Stockton Man Totals S.U.V. While Trying To Save His Oatmeal

San Andreas, CA -- A 21-year-old Stockton man was airlifted to San Joaquin General Hospital with moderate injuries after crashing his S-U-V on Pattison Road yesterday.

Police reports indicate Richard Martinez was travelling north of Steadman Ranch Road shortly after 6:30 in the morning when he apparently reached over to the passenger seat to catch a bowl of oatmeal he had in the vehicle.

Martinez was wearing his seatbelt when the vehicle left the road and rolled. CHP says Martinez suffered lacerations and abrasions in the mishap.

The vehicle was reportedly a total loss.
