Poll Shows Californians Dissatisfied With Governor's Performance

Thursday, April 28, 2005 - 08:35 AM

Sacramento, CA -- A recent poll by the Public Policy Institute of California has some bad news for the Governors office.

The poll says less than half of the state's likely voters are not satisfied with the way Arnold Schwarzenegger is doing his job. The governor's approval rating has been sliding for the last few months since he announced plans for a special election this year and proposed several controversial ballot measures.

The figures show that 47% of those surveyed say they are dissatisfied with the governor's performance while 45% approve. That compares to an approval rating of 60% in January.

Analysts say the numbers could improve when Schwarzenegger releases his revised budget plan in May, and announces whether he will hold the special election in November.
