Search For Missing Mariposa Man Turns Up Nothing

Mariposa, CA -- Still no word on the whereabouts of an 86-year-old man missing in Mariposa County.

Authorities say Douglas Pearse was reported missing Thursday when his abandoned car was found in the Summit Camp area.

Mariposa County undersheriff Brian Muller says search teams are working around the clock. He says a search team was out through the night and thought they might have found a clue, but it turned out to be nothing. The search is expected to continue for the next few days.

Authorities believe Pearse may have tried to walk out of the area after experiencing car problems. Anyone with information is asked to call the Mariposa County Sheriff's office.
