Sonora, CA -- The District Attorney's office has dropped murder charges against a Sonora woman accused of being involved in the murder of a Crystal Falls man.
DA Donald Segerstrom filed the motion to dismiss the case in Tuolumne Superior Court yesterday. Rachel Demore had been in custody at Tuolumne County Jail on $750,000 bail since March 11th. Demore's boyfriend, 23-year-old Joshua Mejia and 22-year-old Joshua Perry still face charges of murder in the death of Robert Johannes and remain in custody.
Investigators believe the 48-year-old Johannes was beaten to death. His body was discovered March 3rd in his Crystal Falls home by a real estate agent who was hired to sell the house.
