Free Gun Safety Locks Distributed In Tuolumne County

Representatives with Project Child Safe were in Tuolumne County today giving away free gun safety locks.

The free gun lock distribution is endorsed by a number of law enforcement agencies and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The campaign will distribute over 12 million free firearm safety locks nationwide. The program is funded by $30 million in grant money from the U.S. Department of Justice.

The safety locks were distributed at the Sonora Police Department, the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department and District Attorney's Office, the Sierra Conservation Center and the Mother Lode Gun Club.
