Highway 49 Crash

A 21 year old West Point woman is recovering from major injuries incurred during a single car crash on Highway 49 in Calaveras County Sunday afternoon.

The CHP reports that Mary Hanson was driving northbound south of Sport Hill Road when she lost control of her Chevy Blazer for unknown reasons. The S-U-V left the highway, struck a mailbox, smashed into an asphalt berm and hit several trees before flipping over and landing upside down.

Hanson was rushed to Sutter Memorial Hospital in Roseville where she remains in stable condition.
