Calaveras County Supervisors will conduct a study session at 2:30 Monday afternoon to discuss implementing the voter mandated Proposition 63.
Prop-63 provides funds to counties to expand mental health services and develop innovative programs and integrated service plans for mentally ill children, adults and seniors. It also creates a Commission to approve certain county mental health programs and expenditures. It's funded by the imposition of an additional 1-percent tax on tax payers' taxable personal income above $1-million. The new law is expected to generate about $800-million annually.
Prop 63 requires strict accountability from counties and that's part of what Supervisors will try to mesh out in San Andreas on Monday.
