Matusi Fundraising Surpasses Opponents

The widow of a late Sacramento congressman is reporting a commanding fund-raising lead in the race to replace him.

Doris Matsui reports she's raised nearly 700-thousand dollars in

six weeks of campaigning. She's the widow of the late Robert T. Matsui, a Democrat who represented Sacramento in the U-S House for 26 years. He died New Year's day. Matsui's closest competitor in the race reported raising $29,000.

The special primary election is March 8th.
