Pair Arrested During Routine Traffic Stop

A pair of Valley Springs men were taken into custody after being stopped by an alert law enforcement officer on Berkeley Drive.

A Calaveras County Sheriff's spokesman reports that 22 year old Joseph Henderson was arrested during the traffic stop after deputies allegedly found several baggies containing marijuana in Henderson's backpack.

The driver, 21 year old Michael Hersman was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and an outstanding warrant. Both men were booked into Calaveras County Jail.
