Amber Frey Signs Books in Fresno

Monday, January 31, 2005 - 12:10 AM
Amber Frey signed books at Barnes and Noble in Fresno on Saturday afternoon. It was her first book signing in the state of California since the Scott Peterson double murder trial, in which Frey served as a witness for the prosecution.

Scott Peterson's former girlfriend signed copies of her book for about three-hundred people in her hometown.

Amber Frey's "Witness for the Prosecution of Scott Peterson" chronicles her brief but disastrous relationship with Peterson.

At Barnes and Nobles on Saturday, Frey and her lawyer Gloria Allred said it was unfair and inaccurate for news reports to call Frey Peterson's onetime mistress. They repeated that Frey hadn't known Peterson had a wife. Frey also said she had forgiven Peterson.

Amber Frey was joined by attorney Gloria Allred, during a book signing in Fresno on Saturday afternoon. Frey's book is titled "Witness for the Prosecution of Scott Peterson".

The 29-year-old massage therapist was a star witness during her six days of testimony in Peterson's six-month trial. Peterson was convicted in November of murdering his wife, Laci, and her fetus. In December, the jury imposed the death penalty.

Formal sentencing has been set for March.
