The results of a new poll conducted by the non-partisan Public Policy Institute of California indicate the governor still has the support of a majority of voters.
The poll of 1,613 registered voters also found support for Arnold Schwarzenegger among Democrats and independents has declined since last year. The survey indicates that 60-percent of those polled approve of the governor's performance in office. Schwarzenegger's support was proportionally much lower with Democrats. The state's budget was cited as the primary concern by respondents. The poll was conducted over a period of eight days, ending on January 18th. The survey's margin of error is plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
