Small Fires Keep Crews Busy

Lots of fires over the weekend, all of then, small and quickly handled by firefighters.

Saturday night a truck towing a trailer with a flat tire sparked between 6 to 10 small fires along Highway 4 west of Copperopolis to Milton Road near the San Joaquin County Line. Fires were all contained within an hour.

Sunday Morning, firecrews and aircraft sent to the Middle Camp, Confidence Road area. A 1/4 acre of timber was burning and had spread into trees. Firefighters quickly had that fire contained by 11 a.m.

Another small grass fire along Highway 49 and O'Connell south of San Andreas reported just after 4 last night was also knocked down without much damage.
