Firefighters making progress

Firefighters are gaining on this fire burning this evening in Jamestown.

The fire is burning in the area of 7th Avenue near Golden Oaks Drive. A large plume of smoke can be seen in the area.

Fire officials estimating about 5 acres burnt so far. Firefighters are making good progress on getting the fire surrounded.

CDF Air Attack command flying above the fire is releasing additional air tankers. Helicopters are working the fire, dropping water from their buckets.

Again law enforcement is urging people who are in the area watching fire to get out of the way of fire equipment and crews.
