Fire Damages Mariposa Businesses

A fire late night in the town of Mariposa damaged three businesses and a home.

California Department of Forestry reports the call went out just after 11 p.m. last night to the 5100 block of Highway 140.

The blaze involved the Indian Art Gallery, Mariposa T-V, Mariposa Barbershop and a residence. Fire officials says the fire did $250,000 damage to the art gallery and the home. Ten fire engines and 30 firefighters battled last night's blaze.
