Officials have released the name of the man who died after an alleged beating Sunday.
45-year-old David Davis died at a Modesto hospital after an incident Sunday which left him with severe head injuries. The Tuolumne County Sheriff's department is still looking for the suspect, 23-year-old William Nesler, who was released from Tuolumne County Jail early Sunday morning and an hour later allegedly went to Davis's residence and beat him.
Nesler had been in the jail for 30 days on charges of assaulting Davis late last month.
Now, officials are asking for your help.
They say that Nesler has ties to both Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties, as well as out of state connections.
He's described as 6-foot-1, 233 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes, and is heavily tattooed on his arms.
Anyone with information should contact the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department.
