CDF Stops Small Tuesday Fires

Firefighters responded to a quick pair of small fires Tuesday afternoon.

A brush fire was reported just before 3pm to Highway 12 and the Lower Double Springs Road in the San Andreas area.

CDF and CHP units responded to the scene and contained a small grass strip of about 40 feet that had caught fire.

Sonora City Fire units and the CDF then responded to a vegetation fire near the sewer treatment ponds just east of Lime Kiln.

That fire was also contained to a small area.

There's no official word yet about the case of either fire.
