Nesler Assault Victim Dies At Hospital

Tuolumne County Sheriffs investigators say 22 year-old William Nesler III is now wanted by Sonora area law enforcement in connection with the murder of a 45-year-old Sonora man. The victim died at a Modesto hospital from injuries sustained in a beating early Sunday morning. Nesler is suspected in the attack.

Sheriffs Department spokesman Sgt. Rodger Dittberner said Nesler had just been released from jail a hour before the attack took place. He had been serving a 30-day sentence for beating that same man. Authorities say Nesler fled the scene following the attack. The victim's name has not been released.

William Nesler is the son of the Jamestown courtroom slayer Ellie Nesler, ....who in April 1993 shot a man accused of molesting children at a church camp, including William Nesler.

Ellie Nesler is currently serving time in prison on recent drug charges.
