Detective: Man's Body Disposal Talk Not CredibleTuesday, June 29, 2004 - 01:55 PM
After five-and-a-half days on the witness stand at Scott Peterson's murder trial, Modesto Police Detective Allen Brocchini is finally done testifying.
In the Redwood City courtroom this morning, Brocchini testified that Peterson explained in detail to a friend nine years ago how he would dispose of a body. Brocchini said that during a 1995 conversation, Peterson told the friend that by weighing a body down and dumping it into an ocean, it would be impossible to identify once it surfaced.
Laci Peterson's body was discovered in San Francisco Bay, along with that of her unborn son. But upon cross examination, Brocchini acknowledged the man called him a day after Peterson was arrested and he later determined he was not very credible.
