Tragic Accident Kills Modesto Infant

A tragic accident in Modesto A one-and-a-half year-old boy died yesterday afternoon from injuries he suffered after a relative of the boy backed over him with her sport utility vehicle in southeast Modesto. The infant suffered massive injuries and died at the scene.

Police say the infant crawled behind the parked S.U.V. that was stopped in the driveway of a home on Julene Drive. The driver was waiting for a passenger to retrieve some clothing from the home. The woman was not aware the infant was was behind the vehicle as she backed out of the driveway. Police say the 35 year-old woman was so distraught over the accident she had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
