Wreck Injures Tuolumne County Sheriff's DeputyMonday, May 31, 2004 - 11:25 AM
A Tuolumne County Sheriff's Deputy was seriously injured after the patrol car he was in hit a tree.
The accident happened at approximately 11am Monday morning. The deputy was on his way to a call, with his lights and siren activated, when the accident occurred.
Emergency crews had to use the Jaws of Life to extract the deputy from the cruiser.
Highway 49 is closed at Parrotts Ferry Road due to the accident.
There is no word yet on when the highway will be reopened.
