Car Fire Snarls Holiday TrafficSaturday, May 29, 2004 - 06:45 AM
A car fire on Highway 49 had Memorial Day weekend holiday traffic jammed for about an hour last night.
Firefighters arrived at 7:30 p.m. to find a 1993 Buick Le Sabre fully engulfed in flames. The highway at Reynolds Ferry Road in Tuttletown was shut down completely while the fire was extinguished. There was no spread of the flames into the surrounding wildland. Fire officials say the blaze did $5,000 damage to the car.
