Tree Knocks Out Power

It's going to be a dark morning and a long commute for some residents in the Columbia and Sonora area.

Power is out for PG and E customers after a tree fell across Italian Bar Road near San Diego Ditch Road around 3 a.m. this morning taking out power lines and bringing down a power pole.

Tuolumne County Sheriff's dispatchers say the road is completely blocked to traffic in both directions as crews cut up the tree and get a new pole in place.

PG and E estimates at least 4 -to- 5 hours before things get back to normal --- no earlier than 8 a.m. today.
