Police Chief Candidates To Be Interviewed

Sonora will soon have a new police chief.

In a special meeting this afternoon, the Sonora City Council will adjourn into a closed session to interview the candidates.

City administrator Greg Applegate says of the five people who applied, two are being seriously considered by the city council members.

Upon finishing the first interview, scheduled for just after 3pm, the council can agree to hire the candidate or to hold off, and interview the second candidate.

Today's closed session takes place at Sonora's City Hall.
