Fire Crew Bus Burns

A California Department of Forestry inmate firefighting crew enroute to a wildfire burning in the Long Barn area this afternoon had their crew bus catch fire on Highway 108 at Soulsbyville Road.

The crew of 15 to 20 on board was able to contain the blaze in the engine compartment until fire equipment could get to the scene. The fire had spread onto the roadway from spilled, burning gasoline. Another crew bus was called in from Baseline Fire Camp to transport the crew to the wildfire.
