School Building Quake Safety ReviewedMonday, March 29, 2004 - 11:45 AM
Officials say not many school districts have reviewed a study that identifies thousands of buildings that may perform poorly in a big earthquake. The state study found 7,537 public school buildings that could fall short of "achieving life-safety performance in future earthquakes." But since the study was released in November 2002 only about 30 percent of the state's 1,000 school districts have asked how their buildings fared.
