Man Threatens To Kill Daughter

A 57 year-old San Andreas man was arrested early this morning by authorities after he allegedly held a loaded handgun to the head of his 15 year-old daughter threatening to kill her.

Calaveras County Sheriff's investigators say Thomas Patrick Hastings was held on $170,000 bail in connection with assault with a deadly weapon charges.

Law enforcement officers were called to Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital shortly before one this morning. The young girl told investigators her father had also shot the weapon out his vehicle. Deputies say they found the handgun hidden in the car.

The girl was very upset but unhurt. She is now in the custody of Calaveras County Child Protective Services.
