Bypass Discussion Slated for Transportation Meeting WednesdayWednesday, February 25, 2004 - 01:50 AM
At a public meeting tonight, CalTrans hopes to finalize a deal in which they'll ask the state for almost a million dollars.
The money will be for the purpose of making sure that the East Sonora Bypass will be finished by the end of summer. If the tentative agreement between the Tuolumne County Transportation Council and the transportation department is approved, 143-thousand dollars will be diverted from other local projects to stage one of the bypass. Officials hope the project will reduce traffic congestion on Highway 108.
The meeting is this evening at 5pm, on the fourth floor of the Tuolumne County Administration Center.
