In 1988,Larry & Wendy opened the China House in Twain Harte. Larry had extensive experience working with his father's restaurant in Marin County before deciding to open the restaurant in Twain Harte. Wendy also had been in the restaurant business for a number of years; working with her parents in Walnut Creek and then in Sonora! In the twenty years serving Tuolumne county residence, the China House grew from a single location to three locations in the county. Wendy and Larry have decided to scale back to one restaurant, concentrating on the Twain Harte location. The China House serves an authentic mandarin cuisine in a comfortable family setting.
